Students belonging to the student group CARE (Coalition Against Racist Education) take over Jenness House, the temporary home of the Dean's Office, for three days. Among the 15 demands the student group makes are: more minority faculty to be hired, better recruitment of ethnic-minority students from low-income backgrounds, the requirement of a course focusing on the minority experience, and the establishment of a Multicultural Center, which is later established in the spring of 1989.
