Testimonies of the Damned
In light of the recent March for the Damned, members of the CARE Now movement, in conjunction with the Minority Coalition Steering Board, are calling for statements from students, faculty, alumni, staff, and other community members on incidents of bias, discrimination, or hateful rhetoric.
Incidents may be either explicit or implicit instances of discrimination and/or bias.
Incidents do not have to directly involve you and can reference discriminatory practices that have been conducted against peers or others in your social spheres.
Incidents may include discrimination or bias on the basis of race, sex, ethnicity or national origin, religion, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or others.
Incidents may involve Williams community members or members of the surrounding town; incidents may also cover a more generalized bias towards your person as an aspect of the community at large.
We encourage statements to cover not only recent years, but also incidents from the past few decades.
These testimonies will solely be reviewed by students, and they will be anonymized as per your instruction.
We will not publish or share these testimonies with outside agents in any way until we have received your direct permission.
