After facing delays in the search for the 2nd Asian Americanist, and drop in student engagement on campus as a result of COVID, AASiA members relaunch the Asian American studies movement.

The Record publishes a feature on anti-Asian hate; professors, students call for Asian American studies program.


April 29, 2021

AASM members attend President Madel’s office hours. Students bring up the lack of transparency and communication between admins and students, and the unbalanced nature of the movement with much pressure and work put on student activists. President Mandel confirms that there will be a hire next year, and foresees that a full program will come out in a few years.
