  2. The establishment of Asian American Studies will eventually be confirmed by a full faculty vote. Please complete the form at the bottom of this page indicating your support for Asian American Studies.

For trustees:

  1. Sign the petition here: https://www.change.org/p/williams-college-curricular-planning-committee-establish-asian-american-studies-at-williams-college

  2. While trustees do not have direct voting control over the establishment of Asian American Studies, please note that every hire and program must be confirmed by the Committee on Appointments & Promotions (CAP). This committee ALWAYS includes the Dean of the Faculty (Safa Zaki), the President (Maud Mandel), and the Provost (David Love). The Board of Trustees has immense sway over this governing body; your demonstrated support to those key members of the CAP will be vital for the establishment of Asian American Studies.

  3. Email President Mandel, Dean Zaki, and Provost Love with a statement in support of the recent CPC Working Group’s Report (linked here) on AAS, recommending two immediate hires and a third hire after program formation.

  4. Help establish a liaison between the movement and the Board of Trustees so that we can best provide information, answer questions, and share more ways that trustees can support the cause throughout this year and further.
